Te Waka partners with Māori Verse Limited to develop online Māori business directory

Te Waka is pleased to support Māori Verse Limited (Māoriverse) to deliver Māori economic development outcomes across the Waikato region.

Māoriverse is a marketplace, directory and central hub for Pakihi Māori (Māori businesses): an online space that connects consumers with Māori products, services, courses and events.

The directory will be hosted at www.maoriverse.co.nz alongside a toolbox that identifies providers to support the growth of Māori businesses.

“Te Waka is our first partnership, and we value their support of our kaupapa. Together, we share the same vision for strengthening the Māori economy and providing greater opportunities for all pakihi Māori,” say The Māoribots, founders of Māori Verse Limited.

“Our platform allows verified Māori businesses to promote and sell their products and services to consumers around the world. Māori businesses using our platform will benefit from national and international exposure. We’re excited to help Te Waka and the wider Waikato region achieve their goals for Māori businesses.”

Te Waka is committed to facilitating networks and connections for Māori businesses in the Waikato and looks forward to delivering value to the region by working with Māoriverse as a national partner to unlock local social procurement opportunities.

“Partnering with Māoriverse will open many doors for Māori businesses within the Waikato grow and develop by connecting with each other, customers and providers,” says Hemi Ruru, Māori Economic Development Manager at Te Waka.

He mahi tautoko tenei ki nga pakihi Māori mo te hikitia o ratou mahi!

He aha te mea nui o te ao? Māku e kī atu, he tangata, he tangata, he tangata (What is the most important thing in this world? It is people, it is people, it is people)

Ko era te whakatauki e whakaata matou mahi.
