Te Waka appoints new Chief Executive

Hamilton City Council - Hamilton CBD and Waikato River WEB

Tenā koutou

I am pleased to announce that following a thorough search process that the Board of Te Waka has appointed Fiona Carrick as Chief Executive with effect 1st July 2022.

Based in Cambridge, Fiona joins us from Fonterra, where she has served in a range of senior commercial, partnership and risk roles over the last 14 years.

Fiona is well respected within Fonterra and in the broader business and agricultural community, and is an experienced leader who brings strong skills in strategy, risk, stakeholder management as well as broad commercial experience in both New Zealand and internationally.

We are very pleased to have attracted such a high-calibre person to join Te Waka, and look forward to her passion, leadership, critical thinking and focus on delivering results adding value to the Te Waka Kaupapa and to advancing economic development in the Waikato region.

Given her leadership role at Fonterra, Fiona will not be joining until 1st July, but will be meeting the Te Waka team shortly and I know is already thinking about how she can make an impact in her new role.

Ngā mihi,

Hamish Bell | Chair
